Twisted Pair Cable

UTP cables are classified into various categories (marked as CAT) depending on their transmission bandwidth. This is one of the most important factors to consider when purchasing LAN cables. Category 1 offers the lowest quality, and higher category numbers indicate greater transmission capacity. In general, Category 2 is used for telephone lines, Category 3 supports 10Mbps, Category 4 supports 16Mbps, Category 5 supports 100Mbps, Categories 5e to 6 support 1Gbps, and Categories 6e to 7 support transmission speeds of up to 10Gbps.

Next Generation Cable
UTP Cat.7

UTP Cat.7 cables are typically designed as Screened Shielded Twisted Pair (SSTP), wrapped with aluminum shielding and braided shielding. Cat.7 supports transmission speeds of up to 10Gbps and bandwidth of 600MHz. The plugs are usually gold-plated, and the braided shield is connected to this plating, serving as grounding.
